Love
I waded through the world while I waited for the leader
to announce what we all knew he would say.
In the background I'd been fighting a dragon, me and them, and we
for the past several hours and couple days
had failed to kill it. They
forever and ever
would go on to kill it without me.
I saw you quoting someone famous:
Rejoice, for life is precious; mourn, for your enemy died.
Years later I read that some unknown had decided to say it first.
You and I were too far apart,
but no matter, I wanted it badly enough —
I went back to the world,
prepared myself,
and decided to say it again.
No one replied.
